On this page 5 sections
  1. What's new
  2. Camp features
  3. Levelling outline (Horde zones)
  4. Gold value
  5. Who wants it
TL;DR
  • Same herbs as Classic plus New three endgame herbs for flasks and New Scarce herbs that become dyes.
  • Camp line: Incense Candle (Intellect) → Greenhouse (grow your own herbs) → Seed Hybridizer.
  • Feeds Alchemy and now First Aid (healing potions). Every rank trains in Orgrimmar.

What's new New

  • Marefoil, Demonsage, Death Lotus: new endgame herbs. Demonsage and Marefoil go into the four Flasks of Natural ..., Death Lotus into all four plus new Enchanting recipes. Where they grow is not known yet Beta
  • Scarce herbs drop now and then while you pick normal ones: Frilled Lichen, Rosecap, Stranglevine. Alchemists turn them into Cerulean, Magenta and Viridian Dye for other professions Beta
  • First Aid now uses herbs too, for healing potions Beta
  • Cultivation has a level requirement: the herb's picking skill divided by 5 (herbs above 300 skill: level 60). Its cooldown was cut to 15 min (was 60) Beta
  • Legacy perk Bountiful Harvest finds extra Scarce resources when mining, herbing or skinning Live

Camp features

  • Incense Candle (20): 2-25 Intellect, mutually exclusive with Arcane Intellect Live
  • Greenhouse (140): grows herbs over time from seeds you plant, keeps the Candle buff. Blueprint: Shadetooth (Excavation Site: Wetlands), 7.83% Beta
  • Seed Hybridizer (300): multiplies seeds or combines them into rarer tiers, keeps the Candle buff. Blueprint source not known yet Beta

Levelling outline (Horde zones)

Pick skill per herb: Icy Veins and ForeverDB agree. Zones: Icy Veins' spawn table; ForeverDB's best zones fall inside it Beta

  • 1-70: Peacebloom, Silverleaf (1), Earthroot (15), Mageroyal (50). Durotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal, then the Barrens and Silverpine
  • 70-150: Briarthorn (70), Bruiseweed (100), Wild Steelbloom (115), Kingsblood (125). The Barrens, Stonetalon, Hillsbrad, Stranglethorn
  • 150-230: Liferoot (150), Fadeleaf (160), Goldthorn (170), Khadgar's Whisker (185), Purple Lotus (210). Stranglethorn, Dustwallow, Swamp of Sorrows, Feralas, Tanaris
  • 230-300: Sungrass (230), Gromsblood (250), Golden Sansam (260), Dreamfoil (270), Mountain Silversage (280), Plaguebloom (285), Icecap (290), Black Lotus (300). Felwood, Azshara, Un'Goro, the Plaguelands, Winterspring
  • Find Herbs shows nodes on the minimap; no tool needed Beta
  • Train the next rank before you cap (skill 50 / 125 / 200) Beta
  • ! Character level for gathering ranks: Icy Veins' overview says Expert 10, Artisan 25; its Herbalism page says 10 / 20 / 35; ForeverDB says 10 / 20 / 35 Beta
  • Trainer: Jandi, The Drag (Orgrimmar), teaches every rank (Icy Veins; Wowhead: Herbalism Trainer) Beta

Gold value

  • No launch prices yet Beta
  • Our opinion: steady demand from Alchemy and First Aid while everyone levels, and flask herbs from 9 Dec

Who wants it

  • Alchemists, first and foremost; First Aiders for healing potions
  • Caster camps: the Incense Candle, if no Mage brings Arcane Intellect
