Privacy
Plain English. What the site keeps, what it doesn't, and what you control.
Short version: we keep what the guild needs to run raids and loot, nothing about your computer, and no trackers. Your bags, bank and gold are encrypted on your PC and only you can read them unless you choose to share them.
Who we are
Speeding Fines is a World of Warcraft guild. This site is run by the guild's officers for its members. It isn't a business and nothing here is sold. Questions or requests: message an officer on our Discord.
What the site stores
- Your Discord account: your Discord ID, username, display name and avatar link, and whether you hold the Member or Officer role. We get these when you log in with Discord. We never see your Discord password or email.
- Your application: the answers you gave when you applied, and the officers' decision.
- Your characters: names, classes, specs, roles and professions you enter on your profile, your BiS lists, and the talent builds you save in the talent planner. A build you share with the guild shows to members only, with your main character's name and your Discord nickname, and the votes members give it (each member's vote is stored with their Discord ID so they can change it; nobody sees who voted which way).
- Raid sign-ups: which raids you signed up for, with which character, and any note you add.
- Loot points: points you earned and any officer adjustment, with its reason.
- Uploads from the app: what the SF-Stats addon records in game and the app sends: your characters' equipped gear, talents, professions and attunements, and how they look (race, body type, what each slot shows, helm and cloak shown or hidden, and the skin, face and hair choices the game shows addons at a barber); raid and dungeon sessions (who was there, bosses, kills and wipes) and the damage meter numbers; for officers, the guild bank tabs.
- Private inventory: your bags, bank, mail and gold. The app encrypts these on your PC with a key only you hold, so we store a sealed copy we can't read. If you switch on "Show my bags", "Show my bank" or "Show my gold" for a character, the app also sends a readable copy of just that part for the guild to see. Switch it off and the readable copy is deleted.
- Your site settings: how you arranged your dashboard (which cards, in what order, the "Getting started" ticks) and, if you made one, your private raid calendar link.
- Your preferred raid days and hours, if you set them on your profile (until then, the availability you gave on your application). Officers see them when they plan raid nights.
- Officer actions: every change an officer makes on the site is logged with who and when, so members can trust the loot and raid records.
- Your Discord roles: about once a minute while you use the site, it asks Discord whether you still hold Member or Officer, so access ends soon after a role is removed. Nothing is stored from it.
What we don't collect
- Nothing about your machine: no hardware IDs, no list of programs, no IP address log in our database, no system details. The app sends its own version number, the versions of our two addons it has put in each of your games (so Downloads can say Install, Update or Up to date), and your game data, and that's it.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from this site.
- No cookies except the login cookie (which keeps you logged in for 7 days) and a small one that remembers which of your characters you were looking at. Your browser also remembers whether you turned the homepage video on; that never leaves your browser.
- The Recent lists in the menu (the guides, characters, items and talent builds you looked at lately) and whether your Calendar window is open, and where you put it, are kept by your browser on this device only. They are never sent to us and are not analytics. Clear them with Clear next to each list, or all at once:
Who can see what
- Members: characters, equipped gear, raid performance, sign-ups, loot points and standings. Bags, bank and gold only if you share them.
- Officers: the same, plus applications and their answers, members' preferred raid days and hours, member notes and the audit log.
- The public: nothing on the logged-in site. Pages need a Discord login and the Member role. The public guild page (speedingfines.gg/guild) shows counts only (how many mains of each class and role, raid days and times, first boss kills), plus a character's name, class, level and /played if you switch on Also on the public guild page for it. Never your Discord name.
- Your raid calendar link (if you make one): anyone who has the link sees the guild's raid times and your own sign-up status, nothing else. It stops working the moment you turn it off on your profile, or if you leave the guild.
- Other players from outside the guild who were in a raid with us appear only by character name, inside that raid's page.
Where it lives
The site runs on Cloudflare (Workers and a D1 database). Cloudflare handles the traffic to serve the site and keeps its own short-lived security logs; we don't add anything to them. Images like your avatar load from Discord.
How long we keep it
- Applications: kept while you're a member. One that isn't accepted is deleted 90 days after the decision. If you're already in and file your answers again, only your latest 3 are kept.
- Characters, sign-ups, loot points and raid history: kept while you're a member. Raid records stay with the guild's history after you leave, by character name only.
- Uploaded private inventory: replaced by each new upload; deleted when you leave, or the moment you use Delete my data.
- Officers' change log (the audit log): 2 years. Edits to the bot's Discord posts: 180 days.
- Messages our Discord bot ALICE sends you or posts about you (raid reminders you turned on, the answer to your application, levelling milestones, loot): a copy for 60 days, so she never sends one twice. Your reminder choice is kept until you change it.
- The login cookie expires after 7 days.
Your choices
- See or change your characters and sharing settings any time on the site.
- Download my data (on your profile) gives you a file with everything the site holds about you, straight away. Officers' private notes about members aren't part of it; ask an officer if you want those.
- Delete my data (on your profile) deletes it straight away and logs you out: your characters, BiS lists, talent builds, sign-ups, loot points, uploads and locked inventory, app keys (the app stops sending), calendar link, settings and officers' notes about you. Your shared builds go too. What stays, without your name or Discord ID: your votes on other members' builds (in their counts), an officer's decision on your application (a declined one still goes after 90 days), loot drops and raid logs by character name only, and one line in the officers' log saying a member deleted their data. It doesn't touch your Discord membership: leave the server for that.
- You can also ask an officer on Discord to do either for you.
- Updates: the app updates when you press Update on Downloads, and asks first. If you switch on Update automatically (on your app page, or in the app), it also checks for a new version when it starts and every 6 hours. That check only downloads our public list of versions: no account, no key, no cookie, nothing about you. It's off unless you turn it on.
- Don't want to use the app? You don't have to. The site works without it; you just won't have gear or performance numbers on it.
